Gigintsi (Cherna Gora) Monastery "St.St. Bezsrebrenitsi Kozma and Damyan"
The Gigintsi monastery is located in the skirts of the Kitka peak (1118m above the sea level), in the Cherna Gora mountain. It is about 4 km to the south-east of the village of Gigintsi, Breznik municipality. It was founded in the 18th century and nowadays functions regularly. It was declared a monument of culture. Men's, Patron Saint's days on 1 July and 1 November
History
The monastery is a complex consisting of an old and architecturally interesting church, residential and farm buildings. There is a holy spring nearby. The church is one-nef, one-apse, with two conchas. It was built in 1814 and its original round narthex was added later.
Transport
The monastery is connected to the town of Breznik (about 21 km to the north-east) by a third class road and to the town of Radomir (about 32 km to the south-east) by a going round third class road.
